We provide International Education in Beauty Therapy We provide beauty classes in Nail Art, Visagie, Make-Up Artist and Spa Therapy We offer also business classes to prepare you for your future in the Beauty industry After graduation you are an All Round Beauty Therapist and ready to start your own business in Beauty Therapy
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Represent DeVries College to the whole world, we are multi cultural and think outside the (Dutch) box
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
In 1999 I launched DeVries International Cidesco Beauty Therapy Different from now, but starting from nothing is a high chalenge
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The name DeVries was already a monument in Beauty Therapy for 46 years, in Groningen The Netherlands When I became the new owner of the College, (my maiden name is also DeVries), I had no intentions to change the name of the college The name DeVries was, and is, a win-win situation, and never change that
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Clear information about our courses, from lower to high level education The presentation of DeVries International is easy for the eyes to read Representing our College with beautiful pictures of our students in action is very attractive for visitors Visitors and future students mirror themselves on the pictures
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Our goal is to improve the site, like it has over the last 10 years Make it larger, newsletters, forum discussions,news items, music etc. We keep in mind that to much information can be overwelming for the visitor
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
The investment of time is the biggest, we do everything ourselves However it balances good against our succes because we attract many students and positive response
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would change the opening of DeVries Int. in Flash Represent a movie about the International Beauty Therapy Special Items in Beauty Therapy Intervieuws with former students, now succesfull in business
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
When you want... "you can", even when it goes quick Growing slow however, but secure is more the style of me and our team We are all in for the long haul and that takes more time
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
When taking over a business I faced many unexpected situations but I learned how to deal with them, step by step
What has been your biggest challenge?
To become and stay succesfull in business, starting from scratch
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Linking on several sites Promoting DeVries Int. on flyers and brochures Hand out business cards Radio promotion
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It's costing more time that I at first thought At least every week I'm working on DeVries Int.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Since 10 years DeVries Int.is on the web and will continue as long as our visitors like us and study at DeVries Int. This depends on the quality of the site and the information we represent to visitors and future students In time this is difficult to predict
